At Palisades Veterinary Clinic, we understand that traveling with your pet can feel overwhelming. Depending on your destination, the process may take several months and require multiple veterinary visits.
Our team is here to help guide you through the health certificate process; however, pet owners are responsible for confirming all travel, import, and export requirements. Please check with your airline and the appropriate government authorities for your destination before scheduling your appointment.
We strongly encourage you to begin planning as early as possible.
Most domestic health certificates are valid for 30 days unless otherwise specified by the destination state, territory, or airline.
Before scheduling your travel exam, please contact the airline your pet will be traveling with to confirm all applicable requirements, including health certificates, documentation, forms, and any additional travel restrictions.
Any documents that require completion by our veterinary team must be emailed to the clinic at least 72 hours prior to your scheduled travel exam. This allows our team sufficient time to review the requirements and prepare all necessary documentation.
All appointments should be scheduled within 10 days of your pet’s travel.
International pet travel can involve complex requirements, extensive documentation, and strict timelines. While our staff is experienced in assisting with many international travel requests, we strongly recommend considering the use of a professional pet shipping company. These companies specialize in international pet transportation and can assist with the entire process, including travel arrangements, documentation, and country-specific requirements. As soon as you are aware of your international travel plans, please contact our staff. Some countries’ import requirements may require six months or more of advance planning. Please do not wait until your travel date is approaching to begin the process.
Please note that not all of our veterinarians are USDA-accredited, so availability for international health certificate appointments may be limited, particularly during busy travel periods such as summer, holidays, and other peak travel seasons.

We offer comfortable boarding accommodations exclusively for our feline patients. Our trained and caring staff provide plenty of TLC and attentive care throughout your cat’s stay. We can also administer medications, injections, and fluids as needed.
If your cat requires veterinary services, please schedule an appointment prior to making your boarding reservation.
Please note that overnight medical boarding is not offered. Cats requiring overnight medical care or monitoring will need to be referred to an appropriate veterinary facility.
If your pet does not need overnight care, your dog or cat can stay with us. Our spacious cages and runs can accommodate patients of all sizes.
